Support Communities Across Asia ERD serves vulnerable communities in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and the Philippines. Our work supports families affected by conflict, natural disasters, displacement, and economic hardship through emergency food aid, clean water, healthcare, child nutrition, shelter, and essential supplies. Your donation helps deliver lifesaving relief and support recovery across these seven countries.

Dignified, Sustainable Livelihood

10% of the world lives in extreme poverty on under $3 a day. • 284 million workers are living in extreme poverty. • About 2.1 billion workers hold informal jobs without protection or security. • Women are 24% less likely than men to participate in the labor force.   Aid saves lives today, and livelihoods keep families from needing aid tomorrow. When a woman has a source of income, she can feed, school, and care for her children, and she becomes a stabilizing force in her community. Support might include seeds, livestock, tools, vocational and business training, small start-up grants, and farming skills.

Zakat

Your Zakat. Their New Beginning. Zakat is the third pillar of Islam, an obligatory annual charity of 2.5% on wealth that meets the nisab threshold. It purifies our wealth and uplifts those in need. Your Zakat is distributed to eligible recipients, including the poor, the needy, and those in debt. It supports food assistance, healthcare, education, and emergency relief, helping families move toward stability and dignity.

Fidya

Fidya is the compensation paid by those who cannot fast due to chronic illness, old age, or other lasting circumstances. It is given by feeding one person in need for each missed day. Your Fidya provides nutritious meals to hungry families, fulfilling your obligation while bringing comfort to others. • $10 Per Day • $300 For A Full 30 Days of Ramadan

Kaffara

Kaffara is the expiation prescribed in Islam for intentionally breaking a fast or an oath. For a deliberately broken fast, it is fulfilled by feeding 60 people in need (or fasting 60 consecutive days if you are able). For a broken oath, it is feeding 10 people in need. We provide the meals on your behalf and ensure the full number of people is fed. Your act of repentance becomes a source of nourishment and relief for families facing hunger. • Broken Fast: $600 (60 People) • Broken Oath: $100 (100 people)

Emergency Response

An estimated 239 million people needed humanitarian assistance at the end of 2025. • Sudan: 33.7 million people need aid. • Afghanistan: 22 million need aid, with another 4.27 million Afghans displaced abroad. • Yemen: 23.1 million. • Syria: 16.5 million. • Lebanon: The 2026 appeal of $880 million was only 27% funded as of late June. • Venezuela and Colombia: both have active UN humanitarian response plans in 2026, covering migration, violence, and flooding. Wars, displacement, floods, droughts, and disease outbreaks are overlapping, and families are fleeing with nothing. Needs have grown while funding has shrunk, so smaller organizations that act fast and are already on the ground matter more than ever. The first 72 hours decide who survives.

Health

Every 2 Minutes a Woman Died From Pregnancy & Childbirth Complications.... • Sub-Saharan Africa accounts for 70% of maternal deaths. • 37 countries affected by conflict or fragility account for 64% of maternal deaths. • 4.9 million children died before age five in 2024, including 2.3 million newborns. That is one child every six seconds. • Sub-Saharan Africa accounts for 58% of under-five deaths. If current trends hold, 27.3 million children will die before age five between 2025 and 2030.   Most of these deaths are preventable with skilled birth attendants, clean delivery, vaccines, antibiotics, and nutrition treatment. In conflict zones and remote villages, clinics are destroyed, understaffed, or out of medicines, and a woman in labor may need to travel for hours. Each maternal death also puts the surviving children at higher risk of malnutrition, dropping out of school, and orphanhood, which links this section directly to your sponsorship work.
