Dignified, Sustainable Livelihood
About This Fundraiser
10% of the world lives in extreme poverty on under $3 a day.
- 284 million workers are living in extreme poverty.
- About 2.1 billion workers hold informal jobs without protection or security.
- Women are 24% less likely than men to participate in the labor force.
Aid saves lives today, and livelihoods keep families from needing aid tomorrow. When a woman has a source of income, she can feed, school, and care for her children, and she becomes a stabilizing force in her community. Support might include seeds, livestock, tools, vocational and business training, small start-up grants, and farming skills.
