Fidya

Fidya is a charitable contribution for individuals who cannot fast due to long-term health or medical conditions and are unable to make up the missed fasts later. Fidya donations help provide meals to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity. Fidya is $15 per person

Youth Programs

At MASDC we invest in our youth from elementary until college- we have a program for them all. YYT, AWTAD, Bloom, Spiritual Warriors, and Risala. Please consider investing in Programming for our youth.

Eid Al-Adha Toy Drive

As we prepare for our Eid Al Adha Celebration, we are collecting toys to distribute to children during the event. Help us make Eid special for every child! 💛 Make a monetary donation and we will purchase toys on your behalf to be distributed on Eid. 📅 Donation Deadline is May 22nd.

Zakat Al-Mal

Zakat al-Mal is the obligatory charity due on qualifying wealth that has reached the nisab threshold and has been held for one lunar year. It is calculated at 2.5% of eligible savings and assets, including cash, gold, silver, investments, and business inventory. Zakat is a pillar of Islam and a means of purification for both our wealth and our hearts. Through your Zakat, you support those whom Allah has designated as eligible recipients, helping to uplift individuals and families in need within our community. Masjid Repairs

Alhamdulillah, in just the past 6 months, our center has hosted over 250 community events—from weddings and janazahs to youth programs and Friday dinners. And that doesn’t even include our packed Ramadan programming. But with this incredible growth comes a shared responsibility: caring for the space that cares for us. Facility Upkeep & Maintenance includes; • Repainting high-traffic areas
 • Deep cleaning and duct system servicing
 • Kitchen appliance repairs (also used by the food bank)
 • Upgrading our outdated security system
 These improvements are essential—and they come with high labor costs. Your donation helps us maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming space for all.

Itkan Robotics

The ITKAN Institute of Technology, founded by Dr. Mohamed Ebeida in Plano, Texas, promotes excellence in science and technology within U.S. Islamic centers. By introducing FIRST®️ robotics to children, ITKAN fosters innovation and inspires future STEM careers. With numerous FLL, FTC, and FRC teams worldwide, ITKAN is committed to global STEM education. MASDC has launched Virginia's first ITKAN chapter, ITKAN-MASDC, continuing ITKAN's legacy through its Robotics Program. Volunteer coaches and mentors from STEM professions build a network of teams sharing knowledge. With 35 teams in 19 Islamic centers across nine states, ITKAN makes every center a hub of religious and scientific learning for Muslim youth. We hope you can support us in empowering the next generation!
